12882989fc skip null frames in mpeg files, patch by Zoltan Hidvegi <mplayer@hzoli.2y.net> 
I have an mpeg2 avi (created with mencoder -oac copy -ovc copy from a
dvd) that has null frames, probably inserted by mencoder.  I can play
that with -vfm ffmpeg, but mplayer dump when played with the default
libmpeg2, the trivial patch below fixes that.

c2f9ef8fb2 support for selecting which plane to use for metrics in the pullup 
core (one of the chroma planes could be used for much lower cpu load
at the expense of some accuracy) and turning off verbose mode.

cfa265212a fix 10l (computation based on uninitialized data which led to 
incorrect field matching) and greatly improve selection logic. the
pullup core should be very accurate now, so try throwing tough samples
at it and report any failures! :)

0a378573a8 pullup -- third generation inverse telecine engine. the backend 
(pullup.[ch]) is not mplayer-specific and is designed to work well
with g2; vf_pullup.c is the g1 wrapper. see man page for details, and
keep in mind, this is a work in progress.

48ecb3e717 clean up field flags: 
1) cosmetic change, no reason these need to be mpeg2-specific
2) add a flag to tell when fields are ordered, so we don't have to
assume bff (which would usually be wrong) when field flags are not
available.
3) add other flags for future use :)

2283b6305f Removed the historic cfgparser and switched full to the new config parser (altought some macros still remain for compatibility). As a side effect 90% of the warning messages are gone from the core. Things should be cleaner now and less confusing for newbies.

1864646717 I've found some time to implement the encoding support for the new 
DivX API. Now it's possible to play and encode movies with the
latest DivX release.
One thing that doesn't work is the new Video Buffer Verifier (VBV)
multipass encoding. The encoder segfaults. Maybe it just isn't
supported with the standard profile of the released binary encoder.

f68ae8a4e9 just updated vd_theora.c to decode the additional header packets, 
introduced by recent changes in Theora CVS which broke the current
support.  I'll be able to upload a newly encoded sample by tuesday.

movies that were originally telecined but deinterlaced improperly, or

8b0fe12840 fix segfaults with slices. support slice rendering into a filter even 
when the following filter/vo doesn't support slices. also use unified
vf->dmpi rather than having vf->priv->dmpi duplicated in every filter.

- deleted "hinted_me" and "hint_file", the whole idea is bogus.
- commented-out "lumi_mask", it's too buggy.
- better defaults for "bquant_ratio" / "bquant_offset"
- fixed a typo : "extrastatl" -> "extrastat"

163b63b1c8 try to break pattern at scene changes to prevent merging pictures that 
don't belong together! this fixes the problem reported with
flcl-detc.avi. the conditions for this may need more tuning but seem
to work ok.

2ea18bbf61 improvements to detc filter: 
-> use of 8x8 blocks rather than 16x16 to better localize the search
   for interlacing. this helps detect interlacing in very small
   motions, e.g. mouths in anime.
-> removed some redundant conditions in the logic
-> looser condition for detecting lacing and more forgiving of slight
   mismatches between fields from the two telecine frames to make up
   for quantization noise in low quality encodes.
this code is still mostly experimental but probably better than the
old version, so maybe it should be backported to 0.90...?

33b62af947 Add the new -vf option wich is the same as vop in reverse order. 
Syntax is we decided, so you can give the nomes or not with both
vop and vf. vf take precedence over vop.

adc47d34a7 new version of the de-telecine filter, largely rewritten. should work 
much better. please report if there are any cases where the old one
worked better. the docs could also use some nicer formatting...

e68b46b244 - removed unused global 'handle' 
- added __builtin_delete() for cook (rp9 version at least)
- use OpenCodec2 when avaialble, 2nd param is codecpath (traced from rp8)
- fallback to i_bps=12000 when raGetFlavorProperty(1) fails (some rp9 cook flavors)
- disabled dlclose, caused memcorruption (FIXME)
inspired by bugreports/patches by Balatoni Denes <pnis@coder.hu>
