A: Make the mplayer binary SUID root. Become root and type the following:
'chown root /usr/local/bin/mplayer'
'chmod 750 /usr/local/bin/mplayer'
'chmod +s /usr/local/bin/mplayer'
Now it works as a simple user, too.
