Different aliases of the same symbol are considered equal. This is at least how the elf_symbol::operator== is intended to work. What makes the different aliases be different is their pointer value. This patch fixes several spots where these assumptions are not respected. * src/abg-ir.cc (elf_symbol::operator==): Fix thinko and indentation. What was I thinking ... (elf_symbol::add_alias) (compute_aliases_for_elf_symbol): Do not compare aliases using the equality operator, because it considers all aliases of a given symbol as equal. Rather, use elf_symbol::is_main_symbol() to test if an alias is the main symbol alias. * src/abg-comp-filter.cc (function_name_changed_but_not_symbol): Likewise. * src/abg-corpus.cc (corpus::priv::build_unreferenced_symbols_tables): Likewise. * src/abg-writer.cc (write_elf_symbol_aliases): Likewise. This is the Application Binary Interface Generic Analysis and Instrumentation Library. It aims at constructing, manipulating, serializing and de-serializing ABI-relevant artifacts. The set of artifacts that we are intersted is made of quantities like types, variable, fonctions and declarations of a given library or program. For a given library or program this set of quantities is called an ABI corpus. This library aims at (among other things) providing a way to compare two ABI Corpora (apparently the plural of corpus is copora, heh, that's cool), provide detailed information about their differences, and help build tools to infer interesting conclusions about these differences. You are welcome to contribute to this project after reading the files CONTRIBUTING and COMMIT-LOG-GUIDELINES files in the source tree. Communicating with the maintainers of this project -- including sending patches to be include to the source code -- happens via email at libabigail@sourceware.org.
