\pard\sa200\sl276\slmult1\b\f0\fs22\lang9 Quick Note on Launching Hydrus for the First Time\b0\par
There are two ways to launch Hydrus Network for the first time. This is needed because Hydrus is open source and not code-signed by Apple.\par
First, copy Hydrus Network.app to the Applications folder.\par
Next, go to Apple Menu -> System Preferences -> Security (or Security & Privacy). Change \ldblquote Allow apps downloaded from:\rdblquote to \ldblquote Anywhere"\par
Alternatively, you can control-click (or right-click) on the Hydrus Network.app (once installed in Applications). Finally, chose Open. By right-clicking and choosing Open, you\rquote re telling OS X that you want to bypass the security checks for that app only. If this fails, use the previous method of allowing all unsigned apps.\par
\b Updating Hydrus Network for Mac\b0\par
As of v335, Hydrus OS X now releases exclusively as the App, with the default database being created at ~/Library/Hydrus (i.e. /Users/[You]/Library/Hydrus). This makes updating as simple as overwriting the old App with the new. Because this is not portable, it also means that OS X installs can by default only manage one hydrus client per user. You can redirect the database folder, but this is slightly advanced--if you are interested in running multiple OS X databases, please check the help file on database migration for more info.\par
Users who wish to update from version 334 or earlier should move their existing database from inside their <=334 App to this new location before updating. Please check the v335 release post for more information.\par
