Removing these removes the dependency of this code on mips32r2 which would allow it to be used on processors which have FPU instructions, but not r2 instructions (like the mips64el debian port for instance). FFmpeg README
FFmpeg is a collection of libraries and tools to process multimedia content such as audio, video, subtitles and related metadata.
Libraries

Tools
- ffmpeg is a command line toolbox to manipulate, convert and stream multimedia content.
