Updating plugins can be a pain in the ass. Fetching them automatically where possible (jenkins pipelines, mirrors) is a really good option. If not possible but the source is open building the plugins should be the best choice.

Things to avoid:

  • CloudFlare (generally, but especially js only endpoints [fuck you https://dev.bukkit.com])
  • File sharing websites/hash-based downloads (eg. mediafire) (this ain't 2012, please)
  • Captcha endpoints (oh noes, bots download me ploogin)
